HiGuys, I have an Audi 2006 2.0t with 131k miles. I had a low oil pressure light that came on. I looked at the oil pickup tub and it was stopped up. I cleaned it and ran a diesel through the engine and replaced the filter and used a 5w-30 full synthetic oil and hooked up an oil pressure gauge to watch it. I searched online to find the oil pressure
Oilpressure is not something I would want to disable considering it's red and annoying for a reason. It basically means you are starving the engine from any oil and lubrication. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk. Last edited by Sanjman; 07-15-2015 at 01:37 PM .
Atthe opposite end of the spectrum, low oil/add oil message is common to nearly all Audi owners. It is not a crisis type of warning. You could also have a failed oil
Theoil pressure circuit is simple. the dash controls the voltage and the circuit will be 12 volts. when the oil pressure drops the ball bearing in the sensor loses pressure and therefore moves to the off position and breaks the circuits earth so the 12 volt circuit becomes open circuit and the dash warning light comes on.
Ifyou have a low oil pressure problem, it is going to start at high temperatures and low engine speeds. Once a good mechanical gauge is hooked up you can determine if there is a mechanical oil pressure issue or if it is an electrical problem with the switch / wiring / cluster. 04-08-2010 08:11 AM #3. betyouaint.
Ifthe engine is well taken care of then most of the time this is simply due to a bad oil pressure sensor. This is a common failure. If the engine was making noise or if the oil is not changed regularly then I would suspect a bad oil pump. Engine Mechanical problem 2001 Audi A4 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Manual 83000 miles my car has a
